I'm Tired... Are You?

Listen I'm tired… I'm tired of the complaints in my life and not being where I want to be in life. I'm tired of seeing others enjoying the success that I believe I should have. Well you know what my resolve is? I resolve to COMMIT to God! It sounds simple but it's a lot more complex. Take a reflective look at your life and then decisions you have made. Has God been in the center of those decisions and more importantly did He receive glory from your actions? I'll be transparent enough to say that I made some down right selfish choices in 2014, horrible decisions that I don't even have a logically explanation for except that they were rooted in selfish and often without the counsel of God. I'm gonna get that right this year.
Last night my Pastor preached a message and talked about three things Good Plans, Godly Motives, and Great Commitment.
Proverbs 16:1-3 "To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. 2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."
We create plans and make decisions off of what's best for "ME" not that is all bad, but have you committed your plans and the creation of those plans to the Lord? Why do you want what you want? Why do you do what you do? Don't let your heart deceive you rather allow God, the one who knows the secrets of the heart, to direct your desires. Verse three in the proverb says it best that we are to "commit to the Lord WHATEVER", Then God will establish your plans. If you don't commit then I'm sure that after a while your strength will give out, your intelligence will be dumbfounded, and your efforts will prove futile. The thought is that the plans, if committed to God first will be established because at some point His plans become your plans! I want what God wants, do you?
What does commit mean? This word means "to roll, roll away, roll down, & roll together". So in short let go and let God! In every situation and for every person this will look different but it's vital for us all!
Say this prayer with me, Lord You know the plans of my heart and You also know my motives. In this time and at this moment I want to commit these plans to Your care and allow You to take over. Weigh my motives and purify my intentions so that You can get the glory from my life and gifts. I desire You and I'm confident that as I come closer to You, You in return will come closer to me! I commit to following You. Thank You in advance for all You're going to do! It's in Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
